CAIC Avalanche Jam

September 6, 2002, barbecued salmon, bluegrass, and frisbees will be in the air at the CAIC Avalanche Jam at the American Mountaineering Center (AMC) in Golden, Colorado. This fundraising party is to benefit the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC). The menu will include wild Kodiak Island Salmon, beer from New Belgium brewery, and bluegrass music by the Ogallala String Band.

The event will take place from 5-10 pm on the south lawn and courtyard of the AMC and in adjacent Parfit Park. In case of rain, festivities will move into the AMC Conference Center at 710 10th Street in Golden. Cost is $30 in advance and $35 at the gate (ages 12 and under are free). Tickets can be purchased in Boulder at Mountain Sports and Neptune Mountaineering, in Denver at Mountain Miser, in Golden at the Bent Gate, in Summit County at Mountain Outfitters and Wilderness Sports, and in Idaho Springs at Outback Outfitters. The fundraiser, emceed by Denver radio personality and backcountry aficionado, Biff America, will also include a silent auction and door prizes.
